Writing a book is a beast.
Writing a book about personal transformation is a really big beast. This is because your perspective is constantly evolving as you write it.
I wanted to share two conversations that offer a more behind the scenes look at writing Conscious Accomplishment (now available), while also exploring some of the main ideas in the book in depth.
The first one is an interview with my friend Alex Kremer, the founder of Alluviance: a community for sales professionals committed to inner and outer excellence.
Listen on Spotify, iTunes, and Youtube.
The second conversation is with my friend Andrew Horn who is a world class executive coach and master facilitator. He is also the founder of Tribute and the epic men’s retreat Junto, which I’ve been to and highly recommend.
Listen on Spotify, iTunes, and Youtube.
Each conversation was unique and deeply meaningful to me. Talking about the things you’re most passionate about with people you love is the zest of life.
Here are some of the main ideas we weave in both conversations:
Your entire life can be a spiritual practice. The traditional narrative says you’re either crushing it in business or meditating in a cave. I discovered that achievement itself can become a crucible for self-awareness and transformation when approached with the right perspective.
The simple practice of noticing every disturbance can change everything. Everyone asks what’s the one practice people should take away from the book? For me, I started noticing and writing down every single time I was taken out of peace throughout my day. Through this process, I realized my consciousness was beholden to a massive bundle of patterns that were running my life. These became the cues to go inward and face what needed healing.
Transformational conflict is inevitable. When you start changing internally but your external world stays the same you feel like a fish out of water. Your friends still care about the same things, your business has the same demands but you’re operating from a completely different place. This discomfort is not a sign you’re doing something wrong. It’s part of the journey and we talk about how to move through it.
Ambition can run on dirty fuel or clean fuel. Dirty fuel ambition stems from not feeling enough, wanting validation, or needing to prove yourself. Clean fuel ambition flows from love, inspiration, and genuine contribution. The key isn’t to eliminate ambition but to purify where it’s coming from.
Reality is responsive to your consciousness. I experienced hundreds of moments where shifts in my inner world directly corresponded to changes in my outer circumstances. This isn’t coincidence, but a demonstration of natural law and the higher prerogative of the universe organizing things for your personal and collective evolution.
You don’t need eight hours of meditation to evolve. The path isn’t about adding more spiritual practices on top of an already busy life. It’s about shifting your attention to how you relate to everything that’s already happening. Your daily triggers and challenges are the curriculum.
I hope you enjoy these conversations and if these resonate, I encourage you to check out Conscious Accomplishment on Amazon : )
Some people have asked about the audiobook. It should be available in the next week.
Big thanks to everyone who has supported so far.
Much love,
