Life is kind of funny in that pretty much everyone is trying to do the same thing…create a good experience.
Yet we all run around with such profoundly different ideas of how to do that.
The central idea in today’s conversation is how to create a good experience.
Our guest Burgs is the founder of the art of meditation. I first discovered him through this beautiful Mt. Wolf track a few years ago. Since then he has become one of my favorite teachers to listen to.
After a career in business, Burgs’ life took him to Asia where he studied and practiced under the guidance of some of the world’s greatest living masters. He then moved back to England at the request of one of his teachers where he has been teaching meditation for the past 25 years.
Today’s conversation is less about his journey and more about an approach to creating a fulfilling and enjoyable life.
In planning for how to make this conversation, Burgs and I thought it would be cool to integrate some contemplative tracks he’s created to give people a direct experience. So woven within the conversation you’ll find 3 tracks related to the topics we discuss called Life Is Dharma, Spirit of the Yogi, and Everything Is Us.
Interesting ideas cover are:
What it means to live in coherence and be energetically organized
Why aligning to the flow of life is not only more fulfilling, but enduring
The role of awareness in aligning to life
The counterintuitive reason we feel so good in flow states
How to increase our capacity for feeling good
The natural evolution from self centeredness to contribution on the consciousness journey
Burgs is full of amazing metaphors and has a wonderful way of grounding complex ideas in relatable teachings. I hope this conversation provides some inspiration for you in your own journey!
