“We are all connected. Things are passed down through the generations, but we know for a fact that we inherit things on the DNA. We get our skin color, our eye color, our hair color and all of that. But now we know that we actually also inherit trauma on the DNA. So if your grandfather served in the war, that's going to be passed down to the next generations.” (24:38 in this cast)
Dr. Lotte Valentin is a Naturopathic Physician, evidential psychic medium, and award-winning author of Med School After Menopause: The Journey of My Soul. Her two profound near-death experiences transformed her from an atheist into a spiritual healer, leading her to become an ancestral healer and international keynote speaker, bridging the gap between science and spirituality.
After graduating from medical school at age 54 she now combines her medical knowledge with her spiritual gifts to help people heal on multiple levels physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
I wanted to have Dr. Lotte on the show because of her unique perspective as both a physician and intuitive offers groundbreaking insights into how trauma literally lives in our DNA and affects our health in ways modern medicine is only beginning to understand.
This episode is great for:
People struggling with chronic health issues that conventional medicine hasn't been able to diagnose or treat effectively
Anyone noticing repeating patterns in their family across generations (health problems, relationship issues, addictions)
Those interested in how trauma affects DNA and can be inherited
Healthcare professionals looking to integrate more holistic approaches into their practice
Anyone doing inner healing work who feels stuck despite trying various approaches
Ideas that really stuck out to me:
Trauma physically alters our DNA and gets passed down through generations. Dr. Lotte explained how researchers have identified specific genes like FKBP5 that show measurable changes based on traumatic experiences. Studies with Holocaust survivors demonstrate how these alterations are inherited by children and grandchildren creating patterns that repeat across family lines.
A "grid" around the Earth. A silver shimmering energy network that connects everything. She was told by spirit guides that everything on Earth is connected to each other and that everything on Earth is connected up to this grid. This revelation has become the foundation of her healing work.
We're connected to our ancestors through three primary mechanisms. DNA inheritance, learned behaviors or experiences, and quantum entanglement. Just as atoms that interact remain connected regardless of distance we become connected to people through others we've met forming an interconnected network of consciousness.
The mother-child relationship is a critical focus point for ancestral healing. Dr. Lotte emphasized that everyone carries a "mother wound" that needs healing even those who had wonderful relationships with their mothers. This wound often connects to patterns passed down through maternal lineages for generations.
Medical gaslighting happens frequently with issues rooted in ancestral trauma. Many patients especially women are told their symptoms are just anxiety or just IBS when their bodies are actually manifesting deeper ancestral patterns that don't show up on conventional tests.
Intuitive abilities can reveal conditions that standard medical tests miss. Dr. Lotte described numerous instances where she received accurate information about patients' health conditions before meeting them allowing her to guide them to the specific tests or specialists they needed when general practitioners had missed crucial diagnoses.
Healing yourself creates healing for everyone connected to you. When you resolve your ancestral patterns it doesn't just benefit you but creates ripple effects through your entire lineage both backward and forward in time through the interconnected grid of consciousness.
Everyone has intuitive abilities. This can be developed through quieting our mind. Meditation, silent walks in nature, and simply creating space for stillness can help us tune into guidance that's always available to us.
I find it fascinating how Dr. Lotte's medical background equips her with the knowledge and the terms to convert spiritual insights into practical healing procedures that make sense even to skeptical minds.
The idea that we inherit trauma through our DNA feels revolutionary yet it's supported by scientific research. It explains why so many of us struggle with patterns we can't seem to break despite our best efforts. We're not fighting our own battles but carrying the unresolved burdens of those who came before us.
The recurring patterns in family line and understanding them as manifestations of ancestral trauma rather than random coincidences has been illuminating. It suggests that healing isn't an individual journey but a collective one that can liberate both our ancestors and descendants.
I hope you enjoy this conversation!
