Thanks Bodhi! It is a genuine joy for me to share this stuff. I don't claim to be a teacher, more so someone just sharing my own experience. That being said, I think stories are the best way for others to learn and I am glad that my own seems to have this effect on others : )

Thanks for sharing your journey! I see some parallels to the Buddha's path, minus the prolonged fasting and asceticism :)

By the way, when did you quit coffee and alcohol? Did you find yourself going through dry periods during your journey, and at what point did your body finally say "No" to those substances?

It's something I've been wondering about as I've had some very extreme reactions and had to quit both completely over half a year ago.

I mostly quit alcohol about a year ago. It wasn't an overnight thing for me. I started trying to quit about 1.5 years ago and then really got serious about it about a year ago. I probably have drank 4-5 times in the past year, mostly 1-2 drinks. Each time I do, it just becomes even less of a thing I want to engage in.

Coffee I haven't completely quit. I'll treat myself probably once a week when I have a massive thing I want to tackle. Otherwise I drink this ceremonial cacao which is much more blissful, light. Coffee still feels frenetic to my system, but I also have lots of inspiration these days I want to actualize in the world. https://www.amazon.com/VIVAPURA-Cacao-Powder-16-OZ/dp/B008S0P4HI/ref=sxts_rp_s_a_3_0?content-id=amzn1.sym.eff26b9b-e255-411b-a40d-eccb21f93fe4%3Aamzn1.sym.eff26b9b-e255-411b-a40d-eccb21f93fe4&crid=17MUYZ88S5BS5&cv_ct_cx=ceremonial%2Bcacao&keywords=ceremonial%2Bcacao&pd_rd_i=B008S0P4HI&pd_rd_r=7d6d2839-69ac-40f0-b61e-b1e23678def9&pd_rd_w=grMlz&pd_rd_wg=CBEJg&pf_rd_p=eff26b9b-e255-411b-a40d-eccb21f93fe4&pf_rd_r=4PE4F56P187JGNZDCCXJ&qid=1675166144&sprefix=ceremonial%2Bcacao%2Caps%2C100&sr=1-2-5985efba-8948-4f09-9122-d605505c9d1e&th=1

Scott, Your journey is impressive. I do have a question. I hold that joy, happiness, and being in touch with one's inner self is an inherent part of every life. If that belief is true, access is available to everyone - even those not gifted the access to reading. I do not think I am alone in this thinking. Mooji for one is a teacher who believes we need to clear our mind not absorb more information. What do you think?

Thanks for the kind words Dave. I do believe that everyone has the ability to find the inner kingdom within as Jesus, who I consider an incredibly high, enlightened being more so then the only lord and savior. I'm with him. I do not know Mooji, but I do believe that our society suffers from so much conditioning that holds us back by intaking all this negative information. And as a result, we misconsture a conditioned consciousness as our own consciousness. I do think there needs to be an eventual recognition and reconditioning of this. After that though, I think its our responsibility to judiciously put supportive information into our mind. I believe with the intent to evolve, then reality will bring you the information you need. It's ironic that Mooji thinks this, as watching his talks is consuming information. Just my two cents
