love this, def my approach too.

i think the Daoists pretty much always had this approach - have a good worldly life and also pursue the higher consciousness.

I resonate so much with lots of Daoism. It's the main influence in RenXue where I've been focusing my practice / learning for past 5 years

Thanks for continuing to write such helpful ideas. I like this approach of balancing the spiritual and material. While our minds are greater than this physical plane, we still have to play by the rules of the game. At least to an extent. ;)

No doubt. I really like this description in this podcast I heard last night around here https://youtu.be/vaT2BA2CJsM?si=qZ2sxJXBY72_EuMM&t=4669

A beautiful introduction to the Middle Way Path by Scott Britton for those wrestling with states of awareness aligned with inner and outer intelligences ~ via Paramahansa Yogananda and others who thought deeply and practically about bridging the gaps between worldly life and higher awareness states and ideals.

Excellent post. I am seeing folks from all parts of society embracing spirituality. Some are enhancing (or rediscovering) their traditional religious teachings others are discovering it independently. My journey is through Sri Sri Ravi Shankar via the Art of Living. He brings the Vedic teachings to modern society and integrated it beautifully into your life. I believe it is part of the universe/divine moving us to the next level of awareness/consciousness.

But, it is hard - having a foot in both worlds. We all have a lot of Karma to work through!

I love Sri Sri Ravi Shankar! He is such a gem. I haven't gone deeply into his work, but love the podcasts I've listened to with him

There is an online class coming up (Dec 8-11) with a teacher that is really great. It takes only 3 hours a day for 3 days (9 hours). It will give you an insight into the nature of this path to enlightenment. Plus, you get a daily breathing and meditation practice that will fundamentally change you. It is open to anyone!

"The truth is, I don’t know why it’s happening. I just know it is." Have you written about this? As someone who fell into spirituality fairly recently, I struggle to understand whether it is primarily my experience of reality that has shifted ('algo serves me spirituality content') or whether something is/has been shifting in society at large (and if so, since when and why).

The only thing i've written about related to the larger shift shows how the increase in google search traffic for spiritual awakening https://blog.scottbritton.me/p/a-framework-for-finding-business?utm_source=%2Fsearch%2Ffinding%2520a%2520business%2520in%2520consciousness&utm_medium=reader2

It's kind of obvious though. How many people were meditating a decade ago? How many people had done plant medicine? How many people had a coach or therapist?

We're gradually moving this way as a society slowly but surely. As to why, I'm not really sure. I guess that is part of the mystery. Though many would argue that it's kind of necessary if humans want to continue to live on earth which is behind the scenes of the shift

I try to make the sink my temple, the house the altar, I think we can be masters and also be modern man. To not be enslaved by the minds delusions, if we carry the consciousness of Godliness even in the most mundane task, if we create in full alignment, if we go beyond thinking and doing, we have become IT and we add to the higher resonance of the whole earth. To sit with no reactivity to thought. To let be. Surrender. And become a conduit of Love. We shall then enter perfect wholeness.

This is a good one. Yogananda performed real, physical miracles! I know that we can and are Christ & Buddha. We just need to be persistently reminded ❤️

Thanks April. Speaking from my own experience, every time I notice I am thinking in good vs. evil, right vs. wrong, I know it's really coming from a part of self that believes in separation and polarity vs. unity. This part doesn't feel safe so it responds with these judgements. This is not the deepest truth of who I am. When I am able to catch myself and bring in heart qualities like love and trust, space is created to be at ease and continue to do my work, while maintaining boundaries in a broken system. This is a constant practice as I find myself experiencing continuous disenchantment with many things I see, but I try to see these opportunities to come back to learning how to increasingly love the world around me unconditionally. I imagine this will be the case for the rest of this lifetime!
